Cosmoprof 2015 will hold its 48th edition in Bologna on March 20-23—in conjunction with Cosmopack “the packaging show within the show” on March 19-22—and organizers say there are lots of new features in store.
One exhibit this year that attendees can expect to see is the “150 ways to nourish beauty” project, which celebrates the B2B trade fair’s 150 participating countries. The project is an interpretation of ethnic beauty, showcasing the different ways beauty is perceived in different cultures.
What’s New at Cosmopack
Cosmopack will open a day ahead of Cosmoprof this year, giving exhibitors from the packaging sector an opportunity for networking with the 2,000 or so companies exhibiting finished products at Cosmoprof. More than 400 companies from 33 different countries will be exhibiting within Cosmopack’s 14,000 square meters of dedicated space. Cosmopack is known as the largest international trade fair dedicated to the entire supply cosmetics production chain, including raw materials, machinery and automated systems, packaging and full service solutions.
The Trend Forum conference program this year will explore the current and future trends in the packaging and contract manufacturing worlds.
The Mascara Factory
Cosmopack Factory is returning to the show this year, following last year’s popular presentation on compact powders. This time, the exhibit will be dedicated to mascara. The not-to-be-missed project will be located in Pavilion 15A, and will feature mascara’s entire production chain. It will spotlight ingredients and innovative raw materials, and will focus on how to be “green.” A Cosmopack limited edition mascara will be produced with reduced CO2 emissions, demonstrating the show’s emphasis on promoting sustainable manufacturing practices.
The Wall Project at Cosmopack
Also for a second time, “The Wall” will be unveiled at Cosmopack from March 19-22. What organizers call “a ground-breaking project” will be geared toward “rewarding products that utilize scientific advancements with a focus on eco-beauty, while maintaining on-trend cosmetic, skin-care, and personal care products through creativity and research.”
The project was developed to recognize Cosmopack exhibitors that create products that strengthen the ideas of beauty originality through packaging, outsourcing and machinery, and is now taking on environmental sustainability as a focus. The “Eco-Beauty Wall” will spotlight ingredients such as pigments, polymers, active substances, aromas, and containers with new technology (e.g. bottles, tubes, and cartons) that will be considered and reviewed by experts from the global beauty market. A display of all the creations will be open for visitors to see during the four-day event. An expert jury will award the prize for the most excellent innovation.
Navigating Cosmoprof & Its New Pavilions
The numerous changes set for this year’s Cosmoprof include new exhibition areas.
The Multi-Cultural Beauty Pavilion is dedicated to companies making ethnic-specific products, a sector that is showing significant growth, show organizers say.
The Spa Experience will bring together this industry, as well as the International Spa Symposium, an area dedicated to industry associations.
The Extraordinary Gallery will be dedicated to showcasing new products and international beauty trends.
The Green Village is another new area, dedicated to manufacturers of organic and natural products.
Spot On Beauty is returning once again to showcase small companies making niche products.
