What’s New?
There is a new section this year called Luxe Formulation, which aims to bridge the gap between formulation and packaging. It will be set up in Hall Genois, and is dedicated to formulations as well as full-service packaging—with many of the exhibiting companies offering turnkey solutions. This section will feature its own roundtable discussions and conference program.
Organizers say there is a need for the new section in light of new regulations, technical developments, and changes in consumer behavior. “It’s a comprehensive gathering of know-how and expertise across all fields—formulation, standard or contract manufacturing, contract packaging, filling, laboratories, regulations, tests and measurements,” show organizers stated. The new section of the show will also address issues regarding the compatibility of packaging and formulations.
Designer Patrick Jouin, known for industrial design as well as luxury goods, is Luxe Pack’s “guest of honor” this year, and will attend the show on opening day to kick off the extensive conference program. Jouin will be discussing design with Anne-Marie Sargueil, president of the French Design Institute, on Monday at 3pm, where visitors will hear some of his memorable views on design, including, “Luxury is all about sensation. We are simply designing experience.”
Utilizing 3D Printing Technologies for Packaging

Then don’t miss the conference on Tuesday at 4pm titled: “3D Print for the Packaging Industry,” where experts will discuss the newly trending printing technology and its applications for packaging. The roundtable will be chaired by Frederic Allard, founder of Zesmallfactory, and includes Tristan Lefebvre, sales director, 3D PROD.

A trade show in 2014 wouldn’t be complete without a ‘digital’ discussion. The conference, “Digitizing Luxury Packaging,” will take place on October 29 at 4pm. Uché Okonkwo, founder/executive director, Luxe Corp., will explore the different ways that technology and innovation can bring a new dimension to the world of luxury packaging—and how a brand can “wow” consumers by incorporating technologies into packaging, such as motion design, interactivity, 3D projections, forensic water-marking and digital ‘luxemosphere’ elements of sight, sound and scent.
There will also be the “in green” Award Ceremony, once again—taking place in Hall Atrium on level 2, at 5:45pm on October 27. The panel of jurors will decide who is awarded the “green” trophy, designed by Loic Le Bihan, creative director of CHIC Agency.
Another popular event at the show is the Luxe Pack Trends Observer, which will take place on Wednesday, October 29. The roundtable discussion will be led by Formes de Luxe magazine, with an expert panel giving insights on the next trends in packaging, design, consumption and sociology.
