Cosmoprof North America and the Professional Beauty Association celebrated on the East Coast a month before the CPNA show in Las Vegas by hosting the Rising Stars of Beauty event. The chic party was held on June 11th on the Cantina Rooftop at Stage 48 in New York City.

Guests networked with suppliers and brands while sipping on cocktails and pairing wine with fragrances. Daniela Ciocan, Director of Marketing, Cosmoprof North America and Eric Horn, executive director, Professional Beauty Association, spoke to the crowd about the upcoming CPNA show. The event offered a sneak peek at the emerging beauty brands featured at CPNA this year.

Beauty blogger Jessica Scull of Love for Lacquer was mingling with beauty reps, and commented, "It's great exposure for up-and-coming brands to be featured at an event like this."

Clique by Roble, a brand created by chef-to-the-stars Chef Roble,  was among the beauty brands that had displays set up.  Guests enjoyed sniffing the brand's new scented nail polish. Roble explained, "Food and fragrance are connected, intimately -  what smells good tastes good." He continued to explain how our olfactory system works, saying that 80% of taste is actually our sense of smell.

Celebrity fashion stylist Phillip Bloch was hanging out at the bar with fashion entrepreneur and motivational speaker Evette Holyfield, the daughter of heavyweight boxing champ Evander Holyfield. Bloch said he was there to support Chef Roble, who is a personal friend. (The duo also attended this party at Elie Tahari that day.)

Just like food is intimately connected to fragrance, beauty is closely linked to fashion, Bloch said. "A fragrance is a way to make a mark. Just like your underwear, you put it on before you get dressed," he said, while he further discussed how a fragrance can affect how a dress is perceived by others.

Holyfield added, "Fragrance makes you feel sexy," drawing the connection to how a woman will walk differently in a curve-hugging outfit. "I love that wearing a fragrance is a way to express yiour personality," she added.
