Carol’s Daughter’s Monoi Repairing Collection has launched in custom jars and bottles from Berlin Packaging that resemble kitchen containers—reflecting the origins of Carol’s Daughter in founder Lisa Price’s mother’s kitchen and Price’s vision of delivering all-natural “food” for hair. Intended to visually establish a high-end image, packaging features include custom soft-touch 8-oz. HDPE bullet bottles resembling salt shakers, 7-oz. polypropylene jars that look like jam jars, and custom dark brown twist-top closures reminiscent of spice bottle caps. According to the brand, metallic gold labels suggest the “polyethnic” skin color of the target market, while also incorporating hand-scripted notes (like a kitchen recipe) highlighting key product benefits. The same package shape will be rolled out to other products with different label coloring to differentiate product families, coinciding with a multiracial ad campaign in which the company aims to redefine the color of beauty.
