Edgewell Personal Care Company has acquired Bulldog Skincare Holdings Limited. Edgewell stated that it will discuss the acquisition in further detail on its earnings call scheduled for November 10, 2016. The transaction was funded from operating cash and will not have a material effect on fiscal 2017 expected financial results.
Bulldog is a U.K. based men's grooming and skincare products company. Bulldog's products are sold globally with distribution in over 17,000 locations. Its largest markets are in the U.K., U.S., Sweden and South Korea.
Edgewell is a leading consumer products company that owns a variety of brands including Schick, Wilkinson Sword, Edge, Skintimate, Playtex, Banana Boat, Hawaiian Tropic and Wet Ones.
Colin Hutchison, Edgewell's Vice President of Commercial International, comments, "As a challenger company in men's grooming, Edgewell has continuously pressed beyond category conventions and leaders, to bring unique innovation to market for the benefit of our customers, consumers, and Edgewell shareholders.
Hutchison continues, "Similarly, Bulldog has created an exciting and fast growing brand, by bringing that same challenger approach to men's skincare, providing differentiated products that focus on a simple straightforward message for men. Bulldog is a natural fit for Edgewell, and this acquisition creates opportunities to expand our personal care portfolio in a growing global category where we can leverage our large geographic footprint."
Simon Duffy, Bulldog's founder, adds, "Since our founding, our goal has been to put a Bulldog product in every bathroom and we are confident Edgewell will help us deliver on this mission."
