Pinrose is getting a lot of press lately over its Scent Quiz - try it here. The company is featured in Forbes and Teen Vogue this month.
Pinrose is based in San Francisco, and founded by Stanford graduates Erika Shumate and Christine Luby. The quiz is desgned to help consumers find the scent that is best suited to their tastes and personality.
The way the quiz was developed is unique - it uses the properties of synesthesia, asking shoppers to choose between imagery and sound. Then, it matches the user with one of five characters symbolizing a particular scent family. Once your preferences are mapped on the "olfactory spectrum," three of Pinrose's fragrances are suggested for you.
The Pinrose eau de parfum collection includes the best-selling Secret Genius, crafted by Harry Fremont, which includes notes of vanilla and caramel. Pinrose Eau De Parfum, which has Bulgarian rose, iris, clove and vanilla notes was created by perfumer David Apel.
The Pinrose collection is packaged in 30ml bottles, which retail for $55. Each bottle has a vibrantly colored label, designed to reflect each scent's personality.
Petal Packs are also available, which are $24 for twenty-single-dose sachets that enable on-the-go application.
