Talon House wants to go up against wet wipes with its new product, TriQuell Hygienic Cleansing Lotion. It's packaged in a bottle, and is designed for the same use, in the bathroom, as "flushable" wet wipes.
The market for pre-moistened towelettes, or wet wipes, is a market estimated to be worth more than $6 billion dollars per year and growing at a rate of 5 to 6% annually, the company states.
But even those marketed as "flushable" are not ideal for sewer systems, and are known to cause major issues for household plumbing systems and the environment, since they dont break down in water like toilet paper does.
TriQuell Cleansing Lotion is a fragrance-free product that contains Lanolin, Bisabolo (made from Chamomile extract), Aloe Barbadis Leaf Juice and Avena Sativa Kernal Flour. According to Dr. Kathleen Job, PhD Bio-Engineering, "This unique and proprietary formula is remarkably effective at returning pH to normal levels while nourishing the skin and calming irritation."
We love the idea - but maybe if the packaging was a little more attractive then idea of using this as an alternative to wet wipes might catch on.
