Last December, Shiseido announced its mid-to-long term strategy, “VISION 2020,” in which it will focus on five types of brand business and also practice a "Think Global, Act Local" brand strategy based on region and market specific needs. In this way, the company plans to speed up decision-making and product development in each region.
To accelerate the program, the Japanese manufacturer has reorganized and boosted its executive team.
The newest team member is Roxana Daver, who has just been named senior vice president, global business development and coordination of Shiseido Co., Ltd. Daver, holds in-depth global knowledge in prestige cosmetics and fragrances, and multi-cultural and multi-linguistic capabilities including Japanese. She will assist Masahiko Uotani, president and CEO of Shiseido Co., Ltd. in coordinating the overall global business operations of its six regions. She will also assume a leading role for certain specialized global projects.
Daver is the former vice president and general manager Asia-Pacific for the Estee Lauder Companies.
At the same time, as of September 1, Louis Desazars will become president & CEO of Shiseido Europe Region (Europe, Africa and Middle East), where he will spearhead an overall future vision and strategy for Shiseido in Europe, with the goals of achieving substantial brand growth in Shiseido’s prestige franchises and other areas where the company competes, as well as developing new markets in Africa and the Middle East. Desazars will also report to Uotani.
Barbara Calcagni, senior vice president, global marketing of NARS, who has led the brand’s marketing efforts worldwide since 2008, will succeed Desazars as president of NARS Cosmetics.
