Dr. Bronner's is partnering with Sea Shepherd to support the group's upcoming campaign to save pilot whales off the coast of the Faroe Islands. Sea Shepherd is an international non-profit, marine wildlife conservation organization, with a mission to end the habitat destruction and slaughter of wildlife in the world's oceans.
Dr. Bronner's is supplying soap to the three Sea Shepherd ships departing Bremen, Germany for the 2015 Faroe Islands Pilot Whale Defense Campaign, Operation Sleppid Grindini. The operation will be led by the Sea Shepherd ships the Bob Barker, Sam Simon and Brigitte Bardot, and supported by a dedicated land team. The campaign marks the organization's strongest at-sea presence in the region to date.
Dr. Bronner's commitment to animal and environmental protection, as well healthy and sustainable agriculture, corporate accountability, and consumers' right to know is part of the company's mission to put into practice the social and ecological principles that inform Dr. Bronner's philosophy printed on the company's iconic soap labels. The brand's colorful bottles and tubes, which contain its liquid soaps, are shown above.
Michael Bronner, vice president, Dr. Bronner's, said, "Dr. Bronner's and Sea Shepherd share a set of ethics and beliefs that ground both of our organizations. I am inspired and humbled by the individuals who make up Sea Shepherd and how each does their part together to confront injustice and make positive change in the world. Although we are not with Sea Shepherd on the boats physically, we are definitely with them in spirit for the Set the Whales Free campaign, and we are happy and honored that our soaps will be there to clean the crew along the way. We look forward to building a partnership with Sea Shepherd into the future."
Captain Alex Cornelissen, CEO, Sea Shepherd Global, added, "Dr. Bronner's not only makes great natural products but also cares about our natural world and all its inhabitants. Dr. Bronner's is a role model of how corporations should run worldwide."
