Zapne has launched a new acne treatment with an innovative formulation, and packaging. The treatment is sold as a set, consisting of a towelette infused with product and packaged in a foil packet; and a mask that is packaged in two separate packets that must be mixed before use. Four once-a-week treatments are packaged in a carton.
The towelette is infused with the active ingredient Salicylic Acid 0.5%, from Natural Willow Bark Extract.
The mask is the unusual formulation - it contains Fresh Water Sponge Powder. The brand says that the power of this unique sponge has been known for decades in Russia and Ukraine for healing skin conditions. The mask also contains organic Aloe Vera, sericin, brown seaweed, organic green tea, organic ginger root, and organic chamomile.
The treatment should be is used once a week - first by wiping the face with the towelette; then applying the mask and leaving it on the skin for 15 minutes. The brand says the treatment will open clogged pores, release trapped oil, and neutralize acne bacteria by delivering its antimicrobials into the pores. It will also decrease swelling and redness, and allow dead skin cells to shed more easily.
According to Zapne's Medical Advisor, Dr. Robertson, "In a sampling of 50 of my patients, 95% of participants reported an immediate reduction in acne breakouts after two treatments."
Ebbie Nakhjavani and Benton Wilcoxon are the founders of Zapne, and explains how the idea for this product came about, saying, "When we learned of Dr. Gregory Robertson's success in treating acne, we committed to develop a full treatment system using as foundation his highly effective formula derived from the Russian sponge."
Nakhjavani adds, "Zapne's superior results are attributable not only to its amazing anti-microbials, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals, but to its unique delivery system that harnesses the power of spicules from the Russian sponge. This releases more of Zapne's power to restore the follicle, calm acne, and reduce associated scarring."
