Kevin Murphy hair care has won a D&AD Pencil Award for packaging design. D&AD is a non-profit foundation founded by a group of by designers and art directors, which invests in funding programs that help to develop the next generation of designers.
The award is D&AD's 2015 Professional Graphite Pencil award. The pencil shaped trophy was presented for the brand's product range packaged in PETG bottles, which were designed by Container Australia.
Kevin Murphy had asked Container Australia to develop a new look for its hair care products. The packaging was designed to communicate the technologically-advanced formulas while referencing the brand's original, well-known slab-sided packages.
The PETG bottles, produced by Container Australia, look faceted. They have hard-edges, with a reflective jewel-like appearance.
