Actress Natalie Dormer from the television series, Game of Thrones, revealed a few of her favorite beauty brands in an interview by Bee Shapiro in the New York Times' Fashion & Style section, posted yesterday.
One of the brands she mentions is Skyn Iceland. In the article, Dormer was quoted as saying: "If I’m shooting that morning, the first things that go on my face (especially if I’d been to an event the night before and had one too many glasses of Champagne) are these Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels by Skyn Iceland. They help tame the puffiness."
Skyn Iceland's New Limited Edition Packaging
Skyn Iceland's eye gels are shown above. The cooling transdermal gel patch, designed to place under the eye, contains actives and Icelandic glacial water to firm, tone, brighten and reduce the appearance of puffiness and wrinkles. Eight pairs, in individual foil packettes, are packaged in an outer carton.
Recently the brand launched its eye gels in a new limited edition package, shown at left. The "Ready-to-Wear" edition contains two extra pairs of eye gels. The packaging, designed by fashion designer Erin Featherson, features a whimsical illustration. The product was rrecently promoted by the brand to editors as a "fashion week survival kit."
The Popularity of Eye Gels
Beauty products like these that are packaged in convenient single-use sizes have the advantage of being taken everywhere - on planes, at photo shoots, and on film sets. Perhaps it's the portable packaging that continues to fuel buzz among celebrities?
Eye gels have long been popular - here's a #TBT photo: Heidi Klum and Mel B with eye gels on their face.
