Ann Barathy was known as "The Legend" at Estee Lauder, Newsday reports, and she has passed away at the age of 94, on February 26th. Barathy began her career at Estee Lauder as a secretary at its offices in New Hyde Park before leaving 50 years later as vice president.
Barathy was raised in East Harlem, and later lived in Dix Hills, Long Island. When Estee Lauder opened its Melville offices in 1965, she spent much of her time there, working mainly with Clinique. Over the years, her job included customer service and billings.
Barathy is survived by her son Randy; brother; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and son Richard.
