On September 23rd, the industry will come together to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Look Good, Feel Better program, at the 30th annual DreamBall.
Look Good Feel Better is offered through a collaboration of the Personal Care Products Council Foundation (PCPCF), the American Cancer Society (ACS) and the Professional Beauty Association (PBA).
Dr. Mehmet Oz and Margarita Arriagada, chief merchant at Sephora, will be honored at the event, which wil be held at Cipriani on 42nd Street in New York City. Plus - this year's "DreamGirl" honoree is Samantha Harris, a cancer survivor, entertainment correspondent, and former co-host of Dancing with the Stars.
Dr. Oz, television show host, author, and cardiothoracic surgeon who advocates wellness and caring for the whole patient from the inside out, commented:
"As human beings, we have the incredible capacity to tap our resolve and change our circumstances based on how we feel. That comes into sharp relief during a Look Good Feel Better workshop. To see women start a session somewhat resigned to their current situation and, just two hours later see them transformed physically, as well as emotionally: energized, smiling, ready to beat cancer - the change in circumstance was noticeable. I am honored that Look Good Feel Better asked me to be a part of this celebration and humbled at the experience of spending the day with such an incredible group of volunteers and workshop participants."
The DreamBall will be followed by DreamBall After Dark - an after party event designed to engage the next generation of beauty industry leaders in supporting the cause.
DreamBall After Dark, from 9:30 pm to midnight, will feature cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction and music. Tickets will be available at the door, or at TheDreamBall.org. All proceeds will benefit the Look Good Feel Better Program and the American Cancer Society.
