Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna 2012
Cosmoprof Bologna Draws Growing International Crowd

Foreign exhibitors and attendees exceed last year’s numbers.

The organizers of the 45th edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, held March 9-12, have reported that not only is the behemoth Italian-centric beauty show one of the most international shows among the largest Italian exhibitions, “it’s a cornerstone event for foreign exhibitors, who have increased by 5% this year, as well as for international attendees, who numbered more than 40,000.” These two factors, they say, “confirm the substantial solidity of the Exhibition and maintain a positive outlook for the future.”

A total of 175,703 attendees visited the show during the four days. International exhibitors numbered more than 2,300, representing at least 70 countries and resulting in five new country pavilions.

“Thanks to such results, Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna confirms its role as the leading global industry rendezvous,” said Duccio Campagnoli, president of BolognaFiere and SoGeCos, the event organizer. “Such a goal has been achieved with concreteness and commitment, which is a further drive for the BolognaFiere project to restart from this edition to strengthen its position as the largest international platform of the cosmetic and wellness industry and to give an even stronger support to the Made in Italy products. This is why we are really pleased with the confirmation given by the impressive attendance of foreign visitors.”

HCT Wins Big at Cosmoprof

Awards judges pay tribute to the supplier’s innovative packaging

HCT took top billing once again at this year’s Cosmoprof Awards, winning two prestigious awards for design innovation.

The competition was organized by Cosmoprof and supported by AD Architectural Digest to honor brands and their strategic marketing, packaging suppliers and contract manufacturers, and fragrance designers for their most innovative and inspiring design products.

HCT received a special Cosmoprof Award for innovative design for Clinique’s Lid Smoothie. Developed by HCT NJ, the Lid Smoothies are the first color cosmetics to use HCT’s patented award-winning zamac tip technology.

Anthony De Marco, executive VP HCT NJ, commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to have been awarded a Special Cosmoprof Award. The combination of HCT’s cooling tip technology and Clinique’s long-lasting formulation has resulted in the Lid Smoothies becoming a huge success since their launch last year.”

HCT also took home the award in the best makeup contract manufacturer and makeup cases category for the second year running. The judges paid tribute to Urban Decay’s technologically advanced limited edition Book of Shadows 4. The package uses QR codes, which users can scan to download makeup tutorials. It was HCT’s second year in a row to be honored with this distinction in the best makeup contract manufacturer and makeup cases category.
