RPC Bramlage-Wiko Develops Roll-on Applicator for Skin Care RangeRPC Bramlage-Wiko has developed an innovative roll-on applicator for a new skin care range from Garnier. The Garnier UltraLift Pro-X range comprises two products: re-plumping day cream and lifting anti-wrinkle roll-on toning cream. Brand owner L’Oréal wanted to use RPC’s Magic Star airless dispenser for the day cream, and wanted the roll-on packaging to convey similar high standards of functionality and design. The chosen concept, inspired by massaging techniques, applies the cream via a massage rollerball. The long, cylindrical base is ergonomically shaped to act like a handle. The container is injection blow molded in PP, while the cap and fitment are injection molded. The compact meets three requirements combined within a single pack: a lid that plays on transparency, a mirror and a specific place for the applicator. To satisfy these requirements, Rexam developed several technical solutions. A half-moon mirror inside the lid enables consumers to see the exact shade. To avoid the aeration holes on the base of the compact, Rexam created semi-invisible aeration around the hinge. And to enable variations on the same basic packaging, a customizable transfer film allows for the differentiation of compacts in the range. Rexam provides Nivea with assembled compacts, complete with puffs or sponges.
